When and who did this left brain, right brain "theory emerged in relation to creativity, logic, etc?
when and by whom? What was your motivation for this? How does this differ from previous theories? please explain. thanks for your answers!
I understand that no one person came up with this theory. Our understanding of lateralization is increasing, so also did not develop at the same time. When the first theories of brain lateralization and specialties was the first place is unknown to me, but probably occurred around the time in which brains were the first to be looked at: obviously fractionated through the corpus callosum. The original idea behind the split between creativity and logic that produce more on one side than the other comes from the left-handed (usually) be more creative. Because they use their right brain more, it was assumed that the right hemisphere is more involved in creative processes (and vice versa for right-handed). Research has shown that the original argument is correct, but very primitive. The side right brain is associated with highly intuitive, thinking holistically, besides being subjective, while the left side is more objective, analytical and see more parts than the whole. Of course, we all use both sides of our brains, but most of us use one more than the other. left-handed and ambidextrous tend to use both sides more easily, right-handed are more likely to use his left side. This often causes difficulties for lefties and ambis. I'm not sure what earlier theories that you are thinking. It is obviously completely different from something like phrenology, though it has at its core the principle itself: the brain is specialized.
