Can depression affect your knowledge of the brain?
I suffered from chronic depression a few years ago due to drugs, injuries and personal loss, but I will not go into details. Since then they have recovered thanks in part to stop smoking and drug use, healthy diet and exercise. I refuse taking antidepressants. I have never yet never asking me if that is what prevents me from making a full recovery. Anyway I'm up and down a bit, and I realize when I'm having a good day my brain seems faster. I remember better and speak better, and maybe even the occasional joke. When I am however, my brain I feel exhausted and desperate in any social activity, because I can not think of anything to say. That is the reasoning for my question. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Yes, depression can. Like you, sometimes I have days when you just can not get things that are so easy sometimes. I even had a time in which I lost the ability to read and had to restart with the kids picture books! Antidepressants do not help much and if you can handle 3.6 and 9. Even better is to include a some animal brains in your diet. The easiest way is the muscle of your local butcher or deli. Also keep your intake of vitamin A, Vits A, C and E are all first found in some blue cheese. The other thing you need is sunlight, so outdoors when possible. It will take time, but I hope that these things will help. All the best.
