Logic Brain Teaser Puzzle ….. HELP?, FAST?
Annie, Bob, Carl, and Dave go on foot. They come to a rickety old wooden bridge. The bridge is weak and only capable of supporting the weight of two of them at once. Because they are in a hurry and the light is fading must cross in the shortest possible time and must carry a torch at every intersection. They only take the torch and can not be released. Due to their different levels of fitness and some minor injuries, all may cross at different speeds. Annie can cross in 1 minute, Bob in 2 minutes, 5 minutes Carl and Dave in 10 minutes. Annie, the brains of the group, thinks for a moment and says that the crossing can be completed in 17 minutes. Their is no trick. How is this done??
Dave and Carl start at the same time, Dave holding torch. Carl will be faster than him so when Carl comes across Bob starts, Dave will walk ends when Bob and Annie will follow through before Dave has ended. 5 + 2 + 1 = 8 there are still 2 minutes for Dave to finish. I think.
