I have a math question / puzzle I'm hoping you can help me through …?
The question is … If only two flavors of ice cream, and 88 children, how many balls does each cone must have for every child to have a single cone? Thus, each cone can have any combination of chocolate and vanilla (C with only C, V V only a couple of C with a pair of V) For example, if there were only two balls per cone, four combinations would … CC, VV, CV, VC. How many tablespoons are needed for 88 unique combinations …. HELP … I'm going crazy!
I can not understand, but I know it will be 2 ^ n = 88 since 2 ^ 2 = 4 means two flavors and two balls each for 4 combinations and 2 ^ 3 = 8 means two flavors and three balls each for 8 combinations.
